Q. Can we see the kennel before boarding?
A. Absolutely YES! We encourage new boarders and previous boarders that have missed a tour of our facility to tour our one of a kind boarding kennel right here in Albuquerque. You WILL be allowed to see every area of our facility!
Q. What do I need to bring when I drop off my pet for boarding?
A. You would need:
- Current vaccination records (if current ones are NOT already on your boarding contract here)
- If bringing your own food – please note what it is with feeding instructions
- Medication with written instructions
Q. What happens if my pet has a medical emergency?
A. We will request a contact telephone number for EACH trip along with a permanent emergency number such as a family member. The kennel will make every effort to contact you should our staff deem it necessary to seek medical aid for your pet. Your pet will be taken to your regular veterinarian during their hours or to the Emergency Clinic on Montgomery outside of regular hours.
Q. What might I expect when my pet returns home?
A. When your pet gets home they often may indicate that they are thirsty or hungry. This is generally due to their excitement in seeing you and being back home. Your pet has had water the entire time and has been fed according to your instructions. Limiting water and food for a short time after returning home may help prevent an upset tummy due to excitement. Also, some pets are tired for a day or so after being boarded just as you might be after your trip.
Q. How far in advance do I need to make reservations?
A. For major holidays and any time schools kids are out we suggest making reservations well ahead of time. Please note: For Thanksgiving and Christmas we suggest making reservations 6-8 weeks ahead.
Q. Are all runs indoor/outdoor?
A. Yes, all runs have their own atrium (outdoor) run adjoining to their own sleeping area.
Q. How often is my pet let out for potty breaks?
A. Because each dog has THEIR own potty area in our atrium, they may “Go” any time they wish.
Q. What is play time?
A. Play time out on our grassed areas is available to our canine guests for an additional charge. They are taken out of their individual run area by one of our kennel technicians to our many grassed areas to romp in these open grassed areas and interact with their temporary friend here.
Q. Is there a cancellation fee?
A. We do NOT require a deposit to hold your reservations. We totally understand that things come up at the last minute and ONLY ask that you give us a call to cancel your reservations. This call may very likely allow someone else to plan on using your cancelled reservation.
Q. Is anyone there on Sunday mornings and major holidays?
A. Our staff are with our guests on Sunday mornings and major holidays.
Just a note from us:
While we strive to keep our canine guest’s runs clean continuously during the day, we cannot control your dog’s individual tendency to “be a dog”. We will strive to touch up your pet if needed, but you may want to consider an “exit bath” to freshen up your pet.
